What has always shocked me is that even if a Catholic priest or father as they are called makes a woman pregnant, all the church does is to discourage him from meeting this woman again … if he cannot stop then he is thrown out of the church eventually but remains a priest in case of emergencies. Normally, the woman gets no recognition or even sympathy for she is condemned for having tempted priests who are Christs on earth, according to the teaching of the same church.
Perhaps in the recent scandals, The Catholic is paying for the way it has treated women excluding them from the priesthood and also from having married priests. The church could also be paying for how its priests have treated the ordinary person with regard to sexuality. Everything that has not got to do with allowing and facilitating conception is treated as sin. The ordinary person has carried guilt for too long, for nothing. Perhpas now the priests can understand how often they crucify people who are not even sinning like them!
