Whats The Use Of Search Engine Marketing
November 24, 2010 by John38 · Leave a Comment
The internet is full of websites for various companies and businesses. Each company will target a different market and offer different products to that market. It seems that these days, if you do not have a website, then you are out of date and old fashioned. The problem with this idea is that your website can easily get lost in the crowd. This is where search engine optimisation comes into play.
Everyone who has a business website needs search engine optimisation of some description. Google has a archiving system which looks at the links each website has to it and the quality of the website. It then assigns a page rank of between n/a and 10, where 10 is the best. Pages with good rankings and lots of targeted links will be on the first few pages of Google when someone does a search for a keyword targeted by the links. What search engine optimisation does is make your website Google friendly and increase the targeted links to your website.
The key to effective search engine optimisation is o target keywords that are applicable to your business and have a good demand. There are online programmes available which can give you lists of hundreds of keywords to choose from as well as the demand data for each one. You can target certain countries and languages, thereby making the keywords specific to the services you offer. Searches that are popular in South Africa may be less popular in America, so it is important to choose your keywords wisely.
Now that you have selected which keywords you want to target, you need to know what other sites are targeting those keywords and how stiff the competition for those keywords is. The first page of Google for that keyword is a good indication of what you are competing with and what you need to target to rank on the first page of Google for that specific keyword. Some sites use a high page rank and fewer links, other sites overwhelm Google with links.
Once you have decided what the target is going to be (this is generally getting enough links as it is easier to generate links than to improve your page rank), you need to reach this target. There a number of strategies to make your site more visible to Google. You can generate links to your website or you can redesign your website in such a way that Google finds it easier to read and rank.
You will not see the effects of search engine optimisation immediately. Since there are so many sites on the internet and more are added and removed daily, Google takes time to index all the links to each website. It is reasonable to expect to start seeing improvements in two to three months. Keywords with higher competition may take longer than that as they need more links to be found than keywords with low competition to start ranking well in Google’s search results. Keywords that have almost no competition may only take a few weeks to start seeing results and require minimal effort to generate a good rank.
Success in optimising your website and ranking well in Google is dependent on how much effort you put in and how powerful your competition is.
Make Camping Fun For the Kids
May 12, 2010 by John38 · 5 Comments
If you want to make your next camping trip fun for the kids and give them real world experience about leadership then put them in charge of planning and organizing the trip. Now camping means many things too many people so you will have to adapt this suggestion to your personal comfort level while enjoying the great outdoors.
For starters, this whole crazy idea may not work if a portable gas generator is a mandatory piece of camping gear for your family. You want to give your kids a sense of accomplishment for making this whole camping trip work by their own efforts. Stuffing a 40 ft. Winnebago with everything from their room at home will not do it. Make this a tent and sleeping bag trip only, even if it’s a cabin tent, and you will be well on your way to achieving that.
Give them a couple days to make a checklist of everything they think they will need for one or two days in the wilderness. Make them plan the activities that you will all do together while out in the woods. If you are going to a national park or a state park you can get information for suggested activities from the park web site or by requesting information by mail from the appropriate source. The possibilities are endless. Hiking, fishing, birdwatching, cataloging the fauna, or telling the story that makes a certain place historically significant are only starters.
You do want to set only one limitation on the amount of gear they can take. They must get everything to the car in one trip. You can cut them a little slack by prepacking things like tents, sleeping bags, and the coleman camp stoves so these bulky items do not count in the one trip limitation. Everything else including food, hygiene, and recreational stuff should be included in the one trip limitation. You may want to silently tuck a couple gallons of fresh water and other personal necessities out of the way in the car, just in case.
The camping trip is a win-win for the kids. If they remember all the essential gear or if they had to make choices between an electronic game and something that would make things more comfortable for everybody they would have received a good leadership lesson. If they went in the other direction and packed only personal recreational items they would have learned a lesson about cooperation and personal responsibility here too. And you never had to say a word.
Property Investing Demands Hard Work and Analysis

Some sell promise through get rich quick schemes. They often sell that hope to individuals who are especially desperate. Unfortunately it is hard to tell if such programs actually work for those who buy them or if they are simply programs to turn a profit for those who sell them. A long running program within the world of infomercials is the 0 down home loans idea. At one time, back in the 1990′s, 0 down programs were conceptualized as a earnest way for well-to-do investors to invest in more property without needing to liquidate their current assets. But soon after lenders conceptualized this plan, it became the target of get-rich-quick schemes all over.
Even if you’re just working loans for profit, you still need to watch for sneaky closing cost terms when you close your deals. These sly tactics need to be held at bay if you choose to follow this ambitious manner of acquiring your financial security.
Earning decent money requires genuine persistent effort, no matter the method chosen. The question really is not as much about whether individual methods work as it is a question of whether you do or don’t have the motivation, discipline and persistence to make any method work.
0 down loans can be a authentic way to use resources and step-up earnings, but that doesn’t make it any simpler to earn an income using zero down loans than it is to work your tail off and earn those raises.
Regardless of how you choose to chase your riches, you need to take time to fundamentally understand and learn the career, talent or method you choose to use to earn your living. No matter how you do it, someday you will need to summon discipline and perseverance.
Once you have selected a career or occupation that appeals to you and suits your skillset, you still must thoroughly engage the career or method to genuinely master it. The people who muster the strength and perseverance to fully grasp their vocation will make the money they want.
The programs you see on late night infomercials on tv and in lengthy sales pages on the Internet aren’t actually selling you no money down loans. They are simply selling information. This data is already obtainable to people who have the smarts and desire to explore and find it on the Internet.
Don’t kid yourself: while their sales pitches make their plans sound very attractive, no measure of promise they sell you will instil in you the courageousness, motivation, self-discipline and tenacity essential to succeed.
Toy ideas for little girls
September 18, 2009 by John38 · 8 Comments
When I dropped off my daughter at school today, I saw a group of girls sitting down talking about their favourite toys. The girls were talking about a toy that Jenny had brought with her to school. It got me thinking about my own daughter, and the kinds of toys she might like. Looking on the Internet, I found a few ideas.
We tried to buy her the Barbie Diamond Castle last year, but it was sold out everywhere. With the popularity of dolls, and Barbie in particular, this is likely to be a good toy as long as we can find it.
All girls love dolls, and what better than Baby Annabell dolls, which come in a variety of models, as well as a a lot of different accessories. Some of the additional accessories include changing bags, a double buggy, feeding center, sleeping bag, wardrobe, comfort seat and nappies. Baby Annabell is a toy that my daughter will be able to add to over time, helping preserve the pleasure she’ll get from playing with it.
Finally, my daughter always sees me working on my laptop, and she like to sit on my knee and play games with me. The idea of a childs laptop is a nice one, as it will stop sticky fingers getting all over my keyboard. After a little research I found that VTech make a range of Princess laptops like Princess Magic Wand Laptop and the Disney Princess Carriage laptop.
These three toys are great ideas for little girls, and I am sure they will provide many years of entertaining fun.
Tips about hiring a preplacement window company
March 31, 2009 by John38 · 3 Comments
There are a variety of topics I can tackle on this subject on how to find a replacement window company. In the many years I have been involved in the industry I have written a number of replacement window reviews. In this particular write-up I intend to focus on only I factor, which in my opinion is one of the most important factors to take into consideration when deciding on the right company to hire.
Well, the best window replacement company should be in a position to offer you a warranty. Yep! This is it. I know you may think this is not as important, well believe me it is especially if you don’t want to live in constant uncertainty. I mean think about it for a sec.
You have a bunch of guys coming in to your home making all sorts of changes on your windows all over the house. What if they do not have an idea about what they are doing? What if they know what they are doing but because of their fat order book they rush through your house to attend to other businesses? If you you’ve never dealt with a replacement window company then I can understand your skepticism of this article.
What can you do if you realize after installation that the windows are of poor quality, are not what you have in mind or simply hate the outcome? What then? do you simply let go and hope it won’t get bad?”
I sure hope not. You should be able to go back to the company and “activate” or ‘redeem” your warranty.
So before you hire any company, take the time to verify their terms of service. As a matter of fact a good window replacement company should be able to come to your house not the other way round. Have them come through and ask them about it. Make sure that you always compare top window replacement companies.
If a window replacement company is able to offer you a warranty then this is a reflection of their service delivery. I mean no many can offer a warranty because they know you’d be back very soon to redeem it because of the poor products or service provided.
Mastering the Art of Placing Mirrors to Create the Effect of Space
January 21, 2009 by John38 · 4 Comments
Tests have proved that home owners who keep mirrors around the house are likely to be more confident and get on better in life. In addition to helping to increase one’s self-confidence, mirrors help you with interior decorating issues, particularly if you don’t have much space.
Decorating experts will recommend you to use a large wall mirror if you want to create the effect of extra space. If you have a partition that isn’t as large as you might like it to be and you are not enamoured at the idea of removing walls or replacing all the furniture with something that should make the room seem wider, a few well-placed whole-wall mirrors might very well give the desired impression. By reflecting the entire room, mirrors will give the effect that there’s twice as much room available.
But bear in mind, you cannot simply go placing mirrors anywhere you want to. Mirrors will not help if large pieces of furniture are blocking them, for instance. Pick a wall that will give people fewer opportunities to see their reflections because this could reduce the illusion of space you are trying to create – opposite some fine oak bookcases could prove an ideal location.
Of course, mirrors come built-in with some items of furniture in certain rooms – vanity sinks, for instance, will have a mirror which will increase the sense of depth and space.
To create the most spacious effect, study the room’s arrangement and identify those parts of it that are not likely to be opposite where people will be sitting. Do not forget – the mirrors do not have to cover the entire surface of the wall, just the whole height. If you get it right, your floor-to-ceiling mirrors will give the illusion that there are passages into other rooms, creating the effect of spaciousness.
