The Island of South Georgia
December 18, 2009 by John38 · 11 Comments
The island of South Georgia, an inhospitable frozen wasteland of glaciers, snow-capped mountains and freezing winds, lies in the southern Atlantic Ocean east of Tierra del Fuego.
This remote Antarctic island is part of the British territory of South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands. The British claim to sovereignty of South Georgia dates from 1775 when Captain Cook landed here and dismissed the island as not worth discovering. Argentina also claimed the island in 1027, an unresolved dispute which contributed to the 1982 Falklands war when Argentine forces briefly occupied South Georgia.
In 1916 Ernest Shackleton became stranded on Elephant Island to the south-west, while on his Imperial Straits Antarctic Expedition, Shackleton and a small group of men left the rest of the party to summon help and ended up, after an arduous journey, at King Haakon Bay on the south coast of South Georgia.
They then managed to make it overland to reach help at Stromness whaling station, which led to the rescue of the remaining men. Daring a later expedition in 1922, Shackleton died on board a ship off South Georgia and he is buried on the island at Grytviken.
There is no permanent human population on South Georgia, only the British Government Officer, research scientists and museum staff at Grytviken, but there are enormous populations of penguins, the largest colonies anywhere on earth, with around 400,000 breeding pairs of king penguins, two million pairs of the macaroni penguins and large colonies of four other species.
Visitors come here to watch penguin couples overcome the extreme climatic conditions and nurture their precious eggs through hatching and the vulnerable chick stage into fully fledged members of the colony. The charming creatures work tirelessly together avoiding the seals that lurk in the shallows waiting to pounce and protecting their young from ferocious skua gulls who will snatch one and tear it to shreds.
When he landed here in the 18th century, Captain Cook noted the huge seal and whale populations around the island, but just two hundred years later both had been hunted nearly to extinction. South Georgia is, however, home to 95 per cent of the world’s southern fur seals, half the southern elephant seals, 250,000 Albatrosses, including the massive Wandering Albatross, and up to ten million other seabirds, making a trip here a totally unique experience.

Have Custom Relaxation on a Comfy Adjustable Bed
November 15, 2009 by John38 · 10 Comments
People with normal physical complaints ranging from swollen ankles to herniated discs are able to find permanent solutions by sleeping in adjustable beds. Just a few years ago, these beds were exclusively used in medical facilities. Today, adjustable beds are found in many homes, and are constructed in every standard size from California king to twin.
One group of sleep products which is quickly expanding is adjustable beds. This is a very sensible fad, because adjustable beds can provide both comfort and some health benefits. If you have ever slept in a hospital and were awake enough to appreciate the hospital bed, you will appreciate the advantages to having an adjustable bed in your home which you can sleep in when you are not ill.
Adjustable beds have two main components; the mattress and the base. The base on an adjustable bed is normally rather sturdy, as most are able to hold up to 600 pounds. these beds are sold in several sizes which could comfortably support adults or children of any size. The mattresses that can be bought with these beds are either pocket spring mattresses or memory foam mattresses. Adjustable beds are routinely used in nursing homes and hospitals, and are found in home care places too. Nowadays, though, adjustable beds are routinely owned by completely healthy people who only want a good bed to sleep or read a book in.
One of the defining aspects of adjustable beds is their capability to lift your head or legs above the rest of your body. Some people will need to sleep like this because of a medical condition. Most people, though, should recline flat when sleeping and use the head or feet lift only for comfort while watching TV or reading. Sleeping flat will enable regular movements during sleep and is more beneficial to for your spine.
Different bed accessories and adjustable mattresses was at one time considered an extravagance. That is no longer valid. Keeping in mind how active we are now and how long we work, a bed which lowers our stress levels or relieves back or leg pain is really a necessity. In the event that the bed also allows us to read a book in relative comfort, that would be a consequence we will have to tolerate.
In addition to providing us with a comfortable place to sit or recline, adjustable beds are usually furnished with a vibrating massage function which is turned on and off with a hand control attached to the bed. This feature will relax and refresh overworked muscles and will put the last touches on the metamorphosis of your bedroom into a refuge of stress relief.
Flex-A-Bed: With a button’s touch a Flex-A-Bed adjustable bed will offer you a comfortable place to get rest and recovery from injury, or just get a better night’s sleep, by perfectly fitting to your body.
Tempur-Pedic: Your Tempur-Pedic can be adjusted to hundreds of comfortable positions by merely pressing a button on the wireless remote. While in a sitting-up pose, the bed will elevate your shoulders, neck and back, while keeping you close to your reading lamp with the patented Wallhugger® design. You can then take advantage of a relaxing wave massage or drift away to sleep.
Memory Foam Mattress Toppers
November 8, 2009 by John38 · 15 Comments
Even the biggest sized bed or mattress can have a king size memory foam mattress toppers laid right on top of it. A king size bed is the biggest bed measurement there is. There are those who opt to have this sized bed for themselves or perhaps for couples and families who would often have their kids sleep in during the night.
The king size memory foam mattress toppers can be as easily installed as these are rather thin and would measure about an average of 3 inches, depending on one’s preference. As the memory foam is rather soft and very dense, it is not advised for one to have an entire bed made from memory foam. It still needs to be laid on a relatively firm and supportive surface such as a mattress or even perhaps on a bed’s base. Otherwise, the memory foam would not be able to provide one’s required support.
One will be able to find great comfort and deep sleep and rest with king size memory foam mattress toppers. These can conform to the body’s position without having to compromise one’s posture. It is able to alleviate the pressure inflicted on the body and thus gives one a better sense of comfort when sleeping. In return, one will be able to feel weightless in their state of rest.
These mattresses will also benefit those who constantly suffer from much pain and would be able to feel better when they wake up without having to worry anymore about stiff necks and shoulders.

Who Wouldn’t One of These Awesome Dogs – Airedale Terrier
October 28, 2009 by John38 · 12 Comments
What a great dog – the Airedale Terrier, historically called the’King of Terriers’, is a medium-sized dog that weighs forty five to 65 lbs and grows to lengths of twenty-four inches. They’re the largest of the terrier breeds, but are just as alert and have as much energy as their smaller relatives.
Here’s Some News You Can Use On memory foam dog bed
Airedale Terriers often have tan heads, ears, chests, undersides, and legs. Their sides and saddles are black. Many Airedale Terriers have a little bit of red mixed in with their white or black chest markings. Thanks to the consistency of their coats, Airedale Terriers will require regular grooming.
This type of dog is very active, and will want to play and be exercised on a day-to-day basis. Anyhow it is preferable if the terrier is going to live with a family with older and well-behaved children. A family with smaller pets, such as pussies or hamsters, should doubtless avoid getting an Airedale Terrier, since terriers are susceptible to chase tiny pets and so on. They can live next to other dogs, as long as they’re trained from puppyhood. Training itself isn’t an issue . These terriers are frolicsome and raring to learn, as well as dependable and protective of their family.

The dog first appeared in Britain, sometime in the 18th century. It was crossbred from a Waterside Terrier and an Otterhound. They were originally used to hunt small game, and then progressed to big-game hunting and police work. Though the breed has been usually’retired’ from such heavy work, they keep their stamina and determination, and remain good trackers and hunters.
Families that love to are perfect for the Airedale Terrier. It can live with other pets, or be fine by itself. With its seemingly limitless energy, it’s only a question of finding a family that will stay alongside of this fine animal.

Want to Have Six-Pack Abs?
September 4, 2009 by John38 · 8 Comments
Once the ideal for masculine build was that of the body builders who competed in the Mr. America contests.
Gone are the days when the musclemen, the Mr. Universes and Mr. Americas were king! Now a slimmer more normal athletic look is IN. Six pack abs attract more attention than do huge upper torso muscles!
To work on getting that look, many are putting an exercise for six-pack abdomonals into their daily exercise sessions or are putting themselves on a diet routine they hope will help them to get some great abs.
Sure, exercise is important, but you cannot get six pack abs or a flat stomach area through exercises alone. It takes more than that.
Getting your 6 pack abs will require a carefully planned, organized approach. Everyone is different and everyone needs a plan designed for them alone. You’ll need a plan laid out with your body type and your needs in mind. You are not likely to pull the information you will need out of popular publications and body-building tips.
You really need the services of an experienced professional trainer, one with a track record of many successes in guiding others to get their six pack. Fortunately you don’t necessarily have to go out and hire a professional trainer. There are ways to access their knowledge and experience without having to have them physically present.
A key part to your success at getting 6 pack abs will be selecting one of the more effective six pack diets and getting it adjusted to your metabolism and body type.
Want to have 6 pack abs? Here is the formula that usually works: 1. Make up your mind that you really want to do it. 2. Get professional advice, a guide as to how to do it, ways that really work. 3.With the professional advice in mind, formulate your own specific plan. 4. Follow your plan step-by-step. 5. Stick with it until you succeed!

Pink Satin Bedskirts: Achieve a Full Makeover
August 26, 2009 by John38 · 9 Comments
Even with fresh comforters, sheets and curtains, your room would still lack of pizazz if you don’t have the matching hot pink bed skirts.
Bedskirts are best explained as the hanging sheets that cover all four angles of the bed. They are placed atop the box spring underneath the mattress and hang floor level. Also identified as dust ruffles, bedskirts are superb in concealing mess underneath the bed. Its main point, aside from adding sophistication and style, is to lessen dust from gathering beneath and around the bed.
Dust ruffles are available in myriad designs, colors and prints. Silk, satin, velvet, and micro suede are available if you love the high-quality things in life. However, there are also simple ones like matelasse and chenille. To maximize the effect of the bedskirt in your bedroom, make sure to choose one that harmonize with your existing decor and sheets. If you want to go for more tailored and manly appearance, pick out a pleated bedskirt in strong, solid colors. For a something fun and relaxed, choose a bedskirt that has striped or circled prints. There are also lace, eyelet, and ribbon adorned and ruffled bedskirts for that ultra girly look.
When browsing for bedskirts, take into consideration your existing bed sets of comforters and pillowcases. The bedskirt should match them. Also, make sure that you integrate the look of your current bedroom decors as well. You don’t want anything to look out of place in your attempt of making over your room. If your mattress size is king, buy the appropriate bedskirt for that. But ensure that the measurement of the bedskirt is equivalent to the height from your room floor to the top of your box spring.
There are numerous brands and designs to choose from online. A particular bedskirt vary from price, look, sturdiness and washability. Make sure you choose the right one just for you.
Munich: Beer, Bavarians and Business
August 26, 2009 by John38 · 12 Comments
Munich is packed with beautiful beer gardens, magnificent public parks and buildings with ornate stucco facades. Tradition and modernism rub shoulders in Munich as in no other German city.
The small town charm of many Munich districts stands in great contrast with the hectic pace of big city life on the Marienplatz or along the sidewalks of Maximilian Street. Quite aside from the famed Oktoberfest held each autumn, this city on the Isar River offers visitors an abundance of architectural masterpieces. During the course of the last century, Munich has become one of Germany’s most important media and commercial centres. Munich’s unique combination of iPhones and lederhosen have made the city one of the most popular business and tourism destinations in Europe.
From Petersbergl to Munich.
Monks settled on the Isar in the eighth century, building Tegernsee Monastery at the place they called Petersbergl. The crypt of the church of St. Peter, Munich’s oldest, dates back to the early Middle Ages. In the twelfth century Heinrich the Lion, Duke of Saxony and Bavaria, built the city of Munich around St. Peter’s. Under the command of this powerful duke, Munich became an important city. It was the official residence of the Bavarian dukes from 1255 and named the capital city of Bavaria in 1506.
A square for football celebrations.
Just as Munich is the heart of Bavaria, the Marienplatz is the heart of the city, the most popular and best known of the many squares in Munich. The new city hall is on the north side of the square, with the old city hall, the Rathaus, on its eastern side. St. Peter’s is just a few steps away. The famous and beloved Bayern Munchen football team has traditionally celebrated its championship titles on the Marienplatz with thousands of enthusiastic fans.
Munich conjures up images of Oktoberfest, the Hofbrauhaus, noisy beer gardens and people wearing lederhosen and dirndl. All of these images are accurate, but Munich is more than simply a museum of Bavarian traditions. The city is one of Germany’s most important publishing and television centres, for example. Many publishing houses, radio and television stations, film production companies and music studios have their head office in the media city of Munich. As a result, Munich is home to more actors, artists, television producers and stars than any other German city.
Summer residence of the Bavarian monarchs.
The celebrities of the past, the Bavarian dukes, princes and kings, also resided in Munich. Their legacy has left the city with many fascinating historical attractions. There are so many to choose from, visitors may have a hard time deciding which of the many sights to head for first.
Nymphenburg Palace and its park should be near the top of the list. The former summer residence of the Bavarian rulers, Schloss Nymphenburg is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Bavaria today. Its elaborate interior furnishings, including King Ludwig I’s almost surreally ornate “Gallery of Beauties” should not be missed.
Symbol of Munich.
The twin towers of Munich’s most famous symbol, the Frauenkirche (Cathedral of Our Lady), are 99 metres tall. Duke Sigismund laid the cornerstone of Munich’s most beloved church on 9 February 1468. Today the Frauenkirche is officially the Cathedral Church of the Archbishops of Munich and Freisling. Its towers can be seen for miles around, is in part because the city administration prohibits the construction of any building within Munich’s central ring taller than 99 metres. New construction of taller buildings further away from the centre has been permitted in the past, but is currently under review. Only the south tower of the Frauenkirche can be climbed. It offers a unique view of Munich, its surroundings, and the nearby Alps, which on clear days appear to be close enough to touch.

Mario Kart with Wii Wheel GameStop
June 17, 2009 by John38 · 12 Comments
Next time you are looking for a great addition to any family’s game night just add Mario Kart Wii with Wii Wheel by Nintendo to your cart. Without a doubt you will have more hours of entertainment for your family than you ever expected. Amazingly the concept is one that is very simple. The game comes with a steering wheel known as the Wii Wheel that your Wii remote fits into and you can use to “drive” for hours.
At the beginning of the game you get to create your own driver’s license. This is how you track yourself through the races you complete and place in. As with any license it has a picture and name. These you design using the avatars that can be altered to fit your personality. The game will pull avatars from your console to be obstacles as well. Make sure to trick out your Wii steering wheel with the grips and stickers if you are getting together with friends!
Play solo or link up with people around the world online. You can line yourself up against up to 12 people online. These people are around the world which is also a neat addition.
There are various methods you can play in. Grand Prix which is like the Nextel Cup, or you can race against yourself in time trials, or ghosts which are someone else’s time where you can see how you stack up to an expert.
The next step in your journey is to pick your character where as with life you can choose to be evil or good (Baby Mario, Mario, Dry Bones, Baby Peach, Toad, Koopa Troopa, Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Diddy Kong, Wario, Waluigi, Donkey Kong, King Boo, Rosalina, Bower, or your own little “me”). The characters are all intricate and interesting in their own way. Just as Disney did when it created it’s characters starting with Mickey Mouse, Nintendo has expanded it’s characters from the Mario series all the way back to the Mario 64 days and even earlier. These designs and names are known to us all.
Your cart can be customized using wheels, rims, shape, and design. These characteristics have different ratings for speed, weight, acceleration, handling, drift, off road, and mini turbo.
Once you have chosen your car and your character it is time to pick the race you wish to run. Chose your circuit racetracks from new and old tracks, some are from Gameboy, Super Nintendo, Game Cube, Nintendo DS, and of course new tracks designed specifically for the Wii. Each of these circuits shows a map of the track on the right hand of the screen. Don’t watch that too close though or the obstacles may wipe you out. These obstacles include but are not limited to 18 wheelers and other karts not to mention there is always the risk of just running off the track. These circuits each have 3 levels of difficulty beginner, medium, and expert.
You can complete the circuits for trophies and even get grades on how well you whomp the completion. This grade allows you to unlock more characters, vehicles, and options. In other words, winning is not the only purpose in this game. There are so many more facets that just what place you finish the race.
You are not resigned to be a solo player on this either. You can also play as a team. As with any real racing group, just look at Karters of America Racing Triad and how everyone while in competition works together. Join a team and compete together. Work together to achieve your goals. Or you can battle for balloons or coins, a form of go karting reminiscent to the old game of combat. Possibilities are endless, and looks like the only thing you can’t do is to make money online.
Over all I think the only group who really dislikes the Wii’s would be Washington Internship Institute, for making its name the same as the Institute’s acronym. Or maybe by this time they have resigned themselves to it and appreciate the recognition they get every time someone looks for the Mario Kart Wii with Wii Wheel-Nintendo Wii.
Alex Jeffreys Coaching Session Module 4 – Take Aways
January 22, 2009 by John38 · 7 Comments
Hi Friends!
Another Alex Jeffreys Coaching Session ticked off the list!
I’m at Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf while I’m writing this. It’s a Saturday for me. I was working two jobs the whole month: my day job and my alter ego as a web marketer. After yesterday’s 6-hour coaching session, and working like a beheaded chicken at work,
I crashed and slept like a log for more than 12 hours straight.
Now, the afternoon sun is bright and sunny, and there’s a noisy crowd in the shop at Island Plaza. Most of them look like Fitness First people and they are talking up a storm.
I just walked in with camo shorts, a Bruce Lee (hoo-watta!! weave in weave out, hoo…) t-shirt and a Lenovo netbook in tow. I was dead set in making a blog or two by today! So here we go…
My Take-Aways
I want to start with the take-aways because this feels like a longish blog for me. So to give my readers instant gratification, I’ll put the take-aways ahead of the rest.
1. I’m going to win the contest, Alex! Alex Jeffreys is a smart coach, in his efforts to keep us on our toes and make us take action, he’s given us something big to shoot for. In a nutshell, the most eyeballs who look at our blogs will get a nice prize.
2. And I’m going to help people AND Win! Yes, readers, you heard it right. I’m going to help others and still win. I believe that the way the universe works, you help people with a full heart, you’ll get a lot of love in return, including getting what you want.
3. I’m going to step out of my comfort zone and do some videos and slides. Writing’s no problem to me, but videos and youtube stuff is a whole different territory for me. Nevertheless, I’m going to to do it!
4. I’m going to follow my plan. Yes, like most humans, sometimes I still slack off. But for me to win the contest, I’ll follow my quantified daily and weekly plans to the letter.
It sound sooo simple, but believe me, its going to be a fun ride.
The Coaching
The last Alex Jeffreys Coaching Session was held at about the same time as the last one. 7am Malaysia, 11pm UK, 6pm Eastern Standard, 10am Australia.
As such, I wish I can see how many people are in the class and if I could get my hands on a list of my classmates. I really want to get together and have a great time with these 500-odd people.
The Fortunate 500. Sounds like King Leonidas’ 300 at Thermopylae.
Unlike them, we’ll survive. And like them we’ll turn into Legends.
The 4th Alex Jeffreys Coaching Session Module was about Social Media Money. And the name is quite appropriate.
Alex has an interesting theory about blogs. And he relates this to ocean fishing.
I ask you, where the best place to catch a large school of fish? Where when there’s a vast ocean, can you 100% of the time find enough fish to fill your nets? The answer may surprise you: near or under oil rigs.
The Oil Rig Scenario
When an oil rig is set up, its pylons become occupied by the denizens of the seas. Algae starts growing on the pylons, attracting mollusks to grow on the pylons as well, attracting fish, which attracts even more fish to the oil rig.
Soon enough you got yourself a full-fledged ecosystem running under your oil rig. Left alone for years, it become a long-term fixture in the open seas.
Relate this to blogging. Your blog is the oil rig.
When you create blog articles (algae), you create food for the people make comments on (clams), which attracts web surfers looking for information(fish), to write more comments on your articles (clams) if it is really really good, attracting even more fish (web surfers) to the site….
To find out more about Oil Rig Hopping and the Oil Rig Rules, click here.
Soon enough you get referred, tagged, bookmarked and copied, and you’re famous. You’ll be viewed as an expert anda really cool dude to hang around with. A simple strategy which requires patience, honesty, cooperation, and a little bit of hard work on the outset.
The lecture took 2 hours and the rest was the time Alex fielded questions from EVERYBODY who had a question in the call. He absolutely (again) didn’t stop until we had no more questions to ask (and we did ask a ton of questions).
By the time it was over, it was 1pm Malaysia, 5am UK, 12mn Eastern Standard, 4pm Australia.
It was long, and I lost sleep over it, but well worth the time and effort we put in. My classmates are absolutely worth helping out! You can never find another nice bunch of people.
If you are interested in having a mentorship with Alex Jeffreys, his Coaching Sessions are full and closed for the moment. His next classes will be announced so please regularly check here.
So Why Alex Jeffreys?
Funny to put him last on the blog, but Alex will understand. He would say the message is more important.
Here’s what I like about Alex Jeffreys.
For some reason, Alex Jeffreys does not claim to be a guru. Actually he prefers to say that he’s only a little bit ahead of us. He’s not shy to say that he’s still on a steep learning curve to the top.
So why did we plunk some hard-earned cash to get what he knows? Well, he’s made six-figure incomes, and was mentored by the likes of Mike Filsaime, Michael Cheney, Tim Knox, and Rich Schefren so you can see why he’s such a phenomenon in internet marketing.
But it’s not just that. Alex Jeffreys has some heart. He was generous with his information (FREE), the information made sense (VALUE) and he had a good message (OFFER) in his video presentation.
His offer to help didn’t sound bogus and he takes the time to interact with us. Not to mention him sustaining 6+ hours of support calls past 11pm in the UK, that’s unheard of.
You can get his latest report about List Building here.
So I would say, after experiencing some gurus myself, that you wouldn’t go wrong being mentored by Mr. Alex Jeffreys.
Stay tuned! More blogs to come!
