Haha.. nice one on guessing the colour of the shoes. We just asked the school and thank God Y has a pair of black shoes. Over here they wear black shoes, the girls wear the mary jane shoes, and grey trousers or skirts (but can be with different designs), white shirts, a school sweater or a blazer, which is in my opinion very very smart looking!! :D I'll show you some day!

Well they restocked our local Target store and it's full of wonderful stamping/scraping stuff. They have Rhonna Farrer stamp sets for $9.99 apposed to $17.00 at the local scrap store. They also had lots and lots of Prima flowers and some real pretty textured card stock in beautiful colors. 12 sheets for $3.99 and some real cute plastic templates for the same price. I saw at least 4 different designs. All by Paper Bouquet.

While you want to avoid run-on sentences you also do not want to use nothing but short, clipped sentences either. This would help you avoid using so many pronouns. You should give a few more details when there is no action occurring, just don't drag it out too much. In my example I randomly chose winter as the scene, as you didn't specify the season or much of anything else in your sample. I realize you didn't give us a whole chapter or anything, I just want to give you an example of how to work such things in.

    Example:

Your paragraph: Peter and Sarah left the park, and Peter felt around in his jean pocket. He grasped a few coins, and suggested going to the near by kebab shop. They approached the shop, and Peter felt a growl in his stomach. The strong smell of malt vinegar penetrated his nostrils. He looked shiftily at the man behind the counter as he and Sarah entered.

My version: As they left the park Peter slid his hands into his pockets to warm them, mentally counting the coins he found there. Looking to Sarah he admired the rosiness the cold snap had produced in her cheeks, providing the only color in a park held in the grip of winter.

Smiling he asked her, "Why don't we go to the kebab shop?"

Returning his smile she nodded, sliding closer and squeezing his arm. It had been a full day since he had eaten, and suspected that it might have been even longer for her.

As they neared their destination the sharp scent of malt vinegar came to his notice, instantly triggering a growl in his stomach. Sarah tightened her grip, revealing the excitement she felt at their impending feast. Peter hoped she wouldn't be too disappointed; his supply of money was small. Pushing through the door Peter looked shiftily at the shopkeeper who stared back at them expectantly.

Not great but I think you'll get the idea.
